About the Artist

Graduating with a degree in Chiropractic and human biology. Theresa embraced the sciences; not yet realizing her ability towards the arts. She was very analytic and mathematically inclined. After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and having to give up her practice, she eventually found her love of oil painting.

Coming from a large, creative family she has always had an appreciation for art. Having aunts that were oil painters, instructors and museum curators. As well as siblings that were artistically inclined. Her Mother a highly artistic individual, urged her to explore painting with oils. As she learned more about the medium along with her Fathers optimistic support she embraced the idea of becoming an artist.

Born and raised in California, Theresa discovered her artistic ability painting seascapes, and mountainous regions of Ventura County. In 2010 after moving to the mid-west her appreciation for the changing of seasons and beauty of the mid-west landscape has been an unending inspiration. Although Theresa loves her new home in the mid-west, she can still smell the salty sea air mixed with jasmine, motivating her to continue painting the Pacific.

About the Art

Every painting I do starts with a sketch. I find an image that is interesting to me. Draw it out in a grid, block in the color without detail and finally re-paint with as much detail as possible. In every painting there is something I love. Whether it’s a bubble, a flower petal, rain drop or an entire mountain. tw
